Sources and method
Every date on 3otla shows its status and links to an official source. We never use aggregators or news sites as sources.
The three statuses
Fixed date
Same date every year, set by official texts.
Estimated
Estimated with the Umm al-Qura calendar. In Morocco the date depends on moon sighting and can be one day later.
Confirmed
Date officially announced by the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs.
National holidays
National holidays follow the official list published on Morocco’s national portal (maroc.ma) and the corresponding decrees.
Religious holidays
Religious holiday dates are first estimated with the Umm al-Qura calendar. Morocco sets these dates by local moon sighting, so the actual date can be one day later. Once the Ministry of Habous announces the date, it becomes “confirmed” with a link to the announcement.
